Installation Guide for Seagull Netting for Roofs
- Gather basic tools and straining wire before starting.
- If installing on buildings, first set up a wire perimeter around the area to be protected.
- Install main bird net fixings (eyebolts) every 10m and at points where the wire changes direction.
- Add intermediate net fixings (pins, rivets, rackets) at intervals suitable for the bird species being kept out.
- Start a new wire run from each main fixing:
- Loop the wire through the main fixing and secure it with 2 ferrules or wire rope grips.
- At the other end, loop the wire through a hook/eye barrel strainer and attach it to the main fixing.
- Tension the wire as needed; use cross-wires for runs over 10m.
To attach the anti-bird netting:
- Use a cable tie to secure the net corner to a corner fixing.
- Attach each mesh to the wire using hog rings, keeping the net tight and square.
- Ensure there are no gaps or holes to prevent bird entry.
