Pigeon Netting Installation Guide
- Gather tools and materials. You’ll need basic tools, straining wire, and anti-bird netting.
- Start by setting up a wire perimeter around the area to be protected.
- Install main bird net fixings (such as eyebolts) every 10 meters and at every point where the wire changes direction. Use the main fixings for this step.
- Add intermediate net fixings (pins, rivets, or rackets) at appropriate intervals based on the bird species you’re protecting against.
- Start a new run of wire from each main fixing. Loop the wire through the eye of a main fixing and secure it with 2 ferrules or 2 wire rope grips.
- At the opposite end of the wire, loop it through the eye of a hook/eye barrel strainer. Attach the hook end of the strainer to the eye of the main fixing.
- Tension the wire as needed. For runs over 10 meters, incorporate tensioned cross-wires.
- Secure one corner of the netting to a corner fixing using a cable tie.
- Attach each mesh of the netting to the wire using hog rings, ensuring the net is tight and square.
