Huck Nets (UK) LTD factory

Bespoke Netting Manufactured in the UK

Huck Nets (UK) Limited was set up in Bridport in 1996 and is part of the Huck Group of Companies, founded by Manfred Huck in Germany in 1963. Starting as a one man business based in his garage in Berghausen, today Huck Nets is an international operation selling its product through Huck agencies and branches worldwide. Sadly Manfred Huck died in 1999 at the age of 63 years; the company is now managed by his son, Stefan Huck.

Huck Nets has built a reputation for its technological advances and in particular for pioneering knotless netting which is stronger and easier to handle than traditional knotted netting. Knotless netting forms the basis of the majority of Huck’s rope products which includes, sports nets, industrial nets, safety nets for building sites, playground equipment comprising nets and ropes and nets for bird and pest control.

As well as manufacturing and supplying net products, Huck offers a full installation service through its installation division - Huck Tek.

In April 2015, Huck Nets (UK) acquired All Play Ltd one of Ireland’s leading providers of play equipment and related services.

Huck Nets (UK) has its HQ is in Gore Cross Business Park, Bridport where all manufacturing is undertaken in the modern 52,000 sq ft purpose built factory space. The Group consists of Huck Nets, Huck Tek, All Play and Edwards Sports and employs 85 staff across sites in Bridport, Sheffield and Ireland.

Huck Nets also includes Edwards Sports Products. Edwards Sports is based in the Dorset market town of Bridport, world famous for its rope and net manufacturing heritage. Bridport has been an important centre for the production of rope, twine, netting and sailcloth, originally made from flax and hemp, from the 13th Century and possibly earlier.

The company was first established by William Edwards, a sailcloth weaver, in the mid 1800s and manufactured rope and twine. Over the next 20 years two significant markets opened up for the Edwards business – lawn tennis and football.

Edwards became the official supplier to Wimbledon in the 1870s – an arrangement that continues today. Very soon after W Edwards and Sons were given the exclusive manufacturing rights for the ‘production of football goal nets for the English Football Association’.

Whilst the types of materials used today may have evolved from hemp and flax to man-made yarns and fabrics, Edwards Sports continues to uphold the traditions of skilled manufacturing and expert product knowledge. We are very proud of our net making heritage and have over the years supplied our sports products to many high profile events and venues throughout the world. We continue to supply the Wimbledon Championships and supplied nets for the London 2012 Olympic Games, the MCC Cricket academy at Lords and many Football and Rugby Clubs across the country.

As of December 2015 Edwards Sports became part of the Bridport based Huck Group, securing the long term future of the company by becoming part of the largest net manufacturer in the UK. By combining Edward Sports products and expertise with Huck’s Sports Division we are now able to offer an even wider range and choice of products to our customers.
