Knotted Sparrow Netting for Linear Coverage
Our 20m x 5m Stone Sparrow Netting is an excellent solution for keeping sparrows away from and off your property.
With a mesh size of 19mm, it's designed specifically to prevent these birds from entering or nesting in buildings and gardens, and also for use as aviary bird netting. This mesh size is recommended for sparrows as it doesn't trap or harm them, but simply deters them from entering or landing.
The knotted net design has been used for added resistance and durability, ensuring it holds up in demanding environments.
Additionally, the bird net material is made from high-quality polyethylene that's chemically inert, rot-proof, and UV-stabilised, providing you with the confidence that it will withstand the elements and offer reliable protection for many years.
This net is supplied in a precut 20m x 5m size, so it’s excellent for linear coverage or side anti-bird protection where width is restricted but length is essential, such as:
- Protecting the side of long greenhouses or polytunnels from sparrow entry
- Running along eaves or rooflines of commercial or agricultural buildings to block sparrow nesting
- Covering narrow garden beds or fruit cages where length is needed more than width
- Securing fencing or trellis areas to stop sparrows from accessing crops or enclosed spaces
- Fitting under long building canopies or loading bays where smaller birds often roost
- Screening open balconies or terraces in hotels, restaurants, or schools with a long frontage

Sparrow Netting Installation Guide
Download bird netting installation information or read below for steps.
Step 1) Prepare Tools and Materials
- Gather basic tools, straining wire, and sparrow netting. Ensure you have the required fixings (eyebolts, pins, rivets, rackets).
Step 2) Install the Wire Perimeter
- If installing on buildings, set up a wire perimeter around the area.
- Install main fixings (eyebolts) every 10m and at direction changes.
- Add intermediate net fixings at suitable intervals.
Step 3) Set Up and Tension the Wire
- Run wire from each main fixing.
- Loop wire through fixing and secure with ferrules or wire rope grips.
- Loop the other end through a barrel strainer and attach it.
- Tension as needed. Use cross-wires over 10m runs.
Step 4) Attach the Sparrow Netting
- Secure net corner using a cable tie.
- Hog ring each mesh square to the wire.
Step 5) Check for Gaps
- Inspect for holes or gaps and adjust as necessary.
