Tennis Centre Screens & Netting

Edwards Sports has a long standing history of providing premium quality netting, surround screens and other associated products for indoor tennis centres. We are the only company in the UK that both manufacture and supply tailored indoor products.

Because of this we are the choice of various LTA, David Lloyd and Virgin Active tennis centres. These include the National Tennis Centre at Roehampton, The Royal County of Berkshire Health and Racquets Club, David Lloyd Milton Keynes, Edgbaston Priory Club, David Lloyd Worcester, Wearside Health and Racquet Club and David Lloyd Brussels in Belgium.

Over a number of years, the Edwards team of netting specialists have built up a wealth of experience in working with architect and constructors on a vast range of tennis centre refurbishments and new build. We have the know-how and adaptability to meet your requirements so please contact us to discuss your needs.

Court Screens

Backdrop screens are used to provide a background which makes the ball more visible. They are made from the highest quality canvas or trevira and provide an aesthetically pleasing surround to a sports hall.

Edwards background screens can be tailor made to fit either tubular steel frames or tensioned wire cables. Viewing panels, hall entrances and fire doors can also be incorporated into screens to suit require-ments.

Our canvas/trevira screens are available in emerald green, Wimbledon green, cobalt blue, oxford blue, Saragossa blue, red plum or French navy (other colours available on request). They are flame retardant as standard to conform to BS 5867 Part 2, Type B performance.

Indoor Cricket Bay Nets

Our cricket bay nets keep cricket balls in confined areas of a sportshall or indoor centre. They are designed to hang on aluminium trackway (or tensioned wire cables) and can be manufactured to any size requested. If aluminium trackway is required to be supplied and installed then please contact us so we can refer you to a suitable installation company.

We can now offer Huck Knotless cricket nets alongside our range of traditional knotted netting. Our knotless indoor cricket netting is manufactured from 2.3mm x 40mm mesh high tenacity polypropylene and is fire retardant treated at source.

This netting is used by cricket clubs of all levels including county and international grounds. Detachable or sewn in white canvas sight screens (other colours available on request) can be incorporated into the cricket bay nets and are supported by lanyard cords to prevent sag. All our canvas sight screens are flame retardant as standard to conform to BS 5867 Part 2, Type B Performance.

Bowlers End Nets

A bowler’s end net stops cricket balls for protection if the bowler fails to catch the ball. The net is made to exactly the same specification as the cricket bay nets (see above) and also has the option of a sewn in or detachable sight screen.

Like the cricket bay nets the bowlers end net is designed to hang on aluminium trackway (or tensioned wire cables) and can be manufactured to any size requested. If aluminium trackway is required to be supplied and installed then please contact us so we can refer you to a suitable installation company.

Tension Cricket Net Cages

This is an area of the market in which we specialise, with the facility to provide a complete service from site visit through to finished installation. Our unique product creates a complete net enclosure to allow matches to be played indoors and is used in 6 and 8-aside leagues across the UK. When the ball hits the netting it rebounds to allow a player to catch the ball, a rule set by many indoor cricket leagues.

Tension cricket net cages are available in green or white and are made to a standard regulation size of 30m x 11m x 4.5m, although other sizes are available to fit a specific indoor layout. Entrances can be incorporated into the cages.

Divider Nets

Divider nets are used in indoor tennis centres to keep balls within the court. They can be made to any size and are designed to hang on tensioned wire cables which we can supply and install.

The netting is made from 2mm thick twisted polypropylene with a 50mm knotted mesh available in white, blue or green. If required the netting can be upgraded to be flame retardant to conform to BS 5867 Part 2, Type B performance.

To weigh down the net, cotton banding with enclosed leadline can be machine stitched to the bottom of the net. For handing the net, a cotton headband complete with brass eyelets can be machine stitched to the top. Supplied with either dog clips or stainless steel split rings for divider net/wire attachment.

Protection Netting

Edwards can manufacture and supply tailored netting to protect building fixtures and viewing spectators from stray tennis balls. Common areas where protection netting is installed includes ceilings, balconies, wall cladding, windows and spectator viewing points.

The netting is made from 2mm thick twisted polypropylene with a 50mm knotted mesh available in white, blue or green. If required the netting can be upgraded to be flame retardant to conform to BS5867 Part 2, Type B performance.
